Core Zone: The Core Zone is the Functional Fitness Center of the Downtown YMCA. The focal point of the center is the PurMotion™ training system providing simple highly effective fitness and performance training options which allow you to perform exercises in a safe, unrestricted manner, working with your body's natural movement and flow. You customize your workout, rather than simply follow the mechanics of a traditionally-designed gym machine. You can grow with PurMotion™ as your skill set grows, from beginner to professional athlete, obtaining unlimited results. We offer classes and general member usage times after an initial mandatory one hour orientation.

Children Policy: Children Under 12 must be supervised by a parent, may only use gym and pool. They may not enter 2nd floor fitness center unless they have gone through an orientation. No children under 16 may use spa, steam, or whirlpool areas. Children 13-15 may use the gym and pool. Other restrictions may apply.

AIM Center and free introductory orientations:
The AIM (Adults in motion) Center has the latest in circuit training equipment. It is specially designed for a 30 minute workout, beginners and seniors. Contact Andy Sullivan for an orientation appointment. |

Mileage Club:
Joining the mileage club is a great way to record your progress, compete with fellow members, and enjoy being active. At the end of each calendar year, a celebration for the members is held.

Fitness Center:
Cybex equipment, free weights, cardio theater, treadmills, ellipticals, arc trainers, and bikes can all be found at this facility. There are currently 17 group exercise classes offered a week. Please see the schedules tab for current times.

Personal Training:
The YMCA has certified trainers on staff to work with individuals one-on-one. Trainers meet with each client and create a program designed to meet each individual’s specific needs. Additional fees to apply. |

BodyPump
The original barbell class that strengthens your entire body. This workout challenges all your major muscle groups. Great music and your choice of weight inspires you to get the results you want.
Day: Tuesday & Thursday

Core Zone
The Core Zone classes are 45 minutes in length and consist of 3 rounds of 12 minutes each with a 2 minute rest between each round. Participants begin at one of twelve stations and do that exercise for 45 seconds. There is a 15 second transition period between each station. This is a total body workout unlike anything you have ever done so don’t let the time fool you. Participants pace themselves so it is very appropriate for all activity levels, genders and ages.

Kettle-Fusion
The 30 minute class will burn calories, increase flexibility and strength. In this intense workout you will tone your entire body using the Russian Kettlebell. Kettlebells will be provided on a first come first serve basis. You can sign up at the front desk up to 30 minutes before class. To guarantee your spot in the class, bring your own kettlebell!

Zumba
This class will get you moving! No dance experience needed! 60
minutes of fun movement to burn calories and have a great
workout packed with powerful moves and music.

Classes are taught using variety of styles and focus on spinal alignment while developing flexibility, strength, stamina, and balance. Yoga will enhance any fitness program and has been proven to help manage stress.
