Y’sUp@Somerset is a wellness facility located in east Montgomery near Arrowhead and Townlake.  The facility offers the most up to date cardio equipment, free weights, the newest line of cybex eagle strength equipment, and the new gravity training system. A child watch area is also integrated to the facility for your convenience. The fully trained YMCA staff is always available to help you with your program and orientate you to the equipment and facility.

The gravity training system is an angular variable resistance device that uses your body weight against the pull of gravity for weight. You can train in all three planes of motion: front to back, side-to-side, and rotational. The gravity training system allows a full, free range of motion of the joints, and builds body strength by working major muscle groups together in connection with the core stabilizers of the abdomen and back. Gravity helps you develop the muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance, and flexibility that can dramatically improve your body shape and composition. Whether you want to build lean muscle mass, to gain size or to replace excess fat, gravity is your ride to success. Since the gravity training system use of body weight resistance minimizes the compression of external weight on the skeletal structure, you can enjoy a safe, low-compressive environment for your joints and back. Gravity is the perfect training platform for growing youth and adolescents, as well as, adult populations who want to preserve and enhance bone and joint health.

The gravity training system is held in a class format lead by a trained instructor. Two types of gravity classes are offered: strength and Pilates. Strength classes focus on an upbeat, total body, strength training workout designed to maximize time and efficiency. Gravity Pilates offers traditional Pilates mat and reformer repertoires and then blends them with new evolved Pilates-based exercises that are specific to the gravity training system. The assistance technology provided by the gravity incline allows participants to achieve traditionally advanced exercises at earlier stages in their training, thereby creating an environment for participants to feel success quickly

Y’sUp@Somerset offers the newest cybex eagle selectorized strength equipment and legend free weights. The cybex eagle line offers an upper to lower body workout in a simple circuit. The eagle line has easy adjustments and excellent body positioning allowing total accommodation of a wide variety of body sizes and ranges of motion.   Eagle also provides great stabilization and isolation. The legend free weight area includes all equipment needed for a complete workout. Flat and incline bench presses, cable crossover, dual cable pulley system, smith machine and free weights.

Y’sUp@Somerset cardio area is fully stocked with the latest cardiovascular equipment: cybex treadmills, upright and recumbent bikes, and arc trainers. We also have Precor ellipticals with flat screen televisions and Cardio Theater. Just plug your headphones into the machine and you’re on your way to great workout!

Child Watch
Y’sUp@Somerset takes great pride in serving our members with a fully trained, upbeat staff so you can feel at ease while you work out. Child watch is offered in the morning, afternoon, and Saturdays for children 6 weeks to 11 years of age. Come enjoy a workout while the children have fun with our child watch staff!
