President and Chief Executive Officer
Gary was named President and CEO in 2013 and takes the place of Bob McGaughey, now retired. He comes to Montgomery from the YMCA of Middle Tennessee in Nashville where he served for 18 years in various roles including Senior Vice President of Organizational Advancement where he supervised two YMCAs and led several collaborations and initiatives. Gary and his wife have two children.
Executive Vice President
Jim began his career with the Montgomery YMCA in 1987 as Physical Director of the Bell Road YMCA. Over the next few years Jim worked his way through the ranks to become Executive Director of the Bell Road YMCA. In 1995 Jim was appointed the status of Vice President and became Senior Vice President in 1998. In 2002 Jim was named Executive Vice President of the Montgomery YMCA. Jim is responsible for all operations of the Montgomery YMCA. Jim holds a degree in Education from Auburn University at Montgomery. Jim and his wife, Wendy, have three children.
Chief Financial Officer/Senior Vice President Administration
Ron began his career in public accounting in 1981 and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1983. In 1997 he entered the Non-profit world as the Chief Financial Officer/Assistant Director of Goodwill Industries of Central Alabama, Inc. Ron joined the Montgomery YMCA in 2004 as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Administration. Ron oversees all phases of the Association’s accounting and financial reporting and supervises HR, IT and Risk Management. Ron holds a Bachelors degree in Accounting and Business from Auburn University and a Masters in business from Troy University. Ron and his wife, Belinda, have two children.
Senior Vice President
Jeff began his journey with the Montgomery YMCA as a camper at YMCA Camp Chandler. From camper to counselor to program director, Jeff had demonstrated his devotion to camping and in 1991 became Executive Director of Camp Chandler. In addition to the resident camp program at Camp Chandler, as Executive Director Jeff is responsible for Indian Guides/Princesses, Project Upward and youth leadership programs.
Jeff became Senior Vice President in 2002 and has responsibility for financial development and fundraising. Jeff holds a Bachelors degree in Economics and Spanish from University of the South. Jeff and wife, Julie, have two daughters.
Senior Vice President
Darryl joined the Montgomery YMCA in 1992 as Executive Director of the Kershaw YMCA. Prior to that Darryl served as Executive Director of Eastside YMCA in Oklahoma City. Darryl became Vice President in 1996 and Senior Vice President in 1999. Darryl is director of the citywide track and field program, wrestling program and oversees the Tuskegee YMCA. Darryl holds a Bachelors degree from Fisk University and a Masters from Springfield College. Darryl and wife, Janet, have two daughters.
